when you walk in to the room i can feel the direction of true north
fresh moose blood still shiny on your perfect hands
hot misty breath curling from your full sultry lips
nobody can fill a parka like you do
all the other ladies waddle in like so many blue marshmallows
but you are crisp cool and dangerous
they are little more than air and high fructose corn syrup
while you are a lithe wiry carnivorous animal
you can cast out my demons any time you want
i've been a bad boy and you're the woman to make me feel it
i need you to punish me for my many sins
i would club a seal for you
i would shoot a grizzly
i would dig for oil in the frozen tundra with my bare hands
till the nails were gone and the bare phalanges fell
like discarded shards of classroom chalk from my bloodied palms

I've been embarrassingly behind in discovering Glen's solo work despite being a Toad the Wet Sprocket fan for twenty years, so I've finally begun doing my homework. I can't really sing and can't play guitar, so I both envy and admire those like Glen who can weave both so effortlessly into such memorable melody. His vocals shine as usual, and there is an organic intimacy to these tracks that make you forget you're listening to a recording and not jamming with an old friend in your living room. Grant Walters

I feel upbeat as well as folky listening to these tracks, so many instruments to fulfill the craving of needing something different-mellow and smooth, such a delight to listen to a poetic artist such as Glenn Phillips Emberley Patience
Soaring tracks with aching vocal melodies, all of them surrounded by warm synthetic soundscapes that yield big emotional payoffs. Bandcamp New & Notable May 2, 2021
